FROM HUMBLE BEGINNINGS.
FIND OUT WHY OUR MEMBERS ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT THE WESTERN DISTRICT CAR CLUB.
Soon after this initial meeting, the club officially took the title “Western District Car Club” (many members were from the Western District) and became affiliated with the Light Car Club of Aust. Frank Pratt was elected first club president and Jack Stubbs secretary.
“For many motorsport competitors, joining a car club is a means to an end- you must have a club membership to obtain a competition licence. However, for many in the Western District Car Club including myself, it is more than just a club to join to obtain a licence. We are like one big, happy family – All here to support one another, to enjoy a common interest and to help the club and each other to achieve great things. It is reassuring to know that there is so much experience and advice available from amongst our members, all you have to do is ask. Everyone contributes and this sense of camaraderie has been ongoing from generation to generation since the club was formed in 1946. We are proud of our history, and wish to see the club flourish well into the future.”
